  • 1 (750ml) bottle prosecco, cava or champagne
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 3 tablespoons mulling spice

  • 1 cup water
  • 3 pears, sliced reserve a few slices for garnish
  • 3 oranges, sliced reserve a few slices for garnish
  • 1 1/2 cups pomegranate arils reserve 1/2 cup for garnish

Simple Syrup

  • Combine water, sugar and mulling spice in medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat and let mixture simmer for approximately five minutes. Remove from heat. Let mixture steep for five minutes, then strain mulling spice. Allow syrup to cool completely before adding to sangria.

White Sangria

  • In a large pitcher, combine all ingredients. Stir gently and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least two hours but no longer than four hours* or the prosecco will go flat.
To serve, put a few ice cubes in each glass. Next, garnish with a few sliced pears, oranges and pomegranate arils. Then, pour the sangria over the ice and fruit. If desired, top with more prosecco.

*To make this more than a few hours in advance, add all the ingredients omitting the prosecco. Then before serving, gently stir in prosecco!
